Cloris Ellis Bonnett

Cloris Ellis Bonnett age 96, of Bussey, passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 22, 2015, at the Mahaska Hospice Serenity House of Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Bussey United Methodist Church of Bussey. Cloris’ family will be present at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 also at the Bussey United Methodist Church, with Pastor Rebekkah Shrimplin officiating. Following services burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery of Bussey. Cloris was born in rural Marion County, Iowa on July 3, 1918 to John and Armedia (Ferguson) Trinkle. She was raised around Marion County and attended school in Attica, Lovilia, Hamilton, and Bussey. After high school Cloris helped with private homecare. On October 2, 1941 Cloris and Owen Cleo Bonnett were united in marriage. Cloris and Owen were blessed with four children: Dixie, Terry, Lee, and Craig. They shared 68 years of marriage together before Owens passing on August 9, 2010. Besides living a short time on the barracks in Texas while Owen served his country, Cloris lived most of her life around the Bussey area. She was an immaculate housewife and she enjoyed baking pies and cakes. She was also a member of the Bussey Methodist Church and she like to play Bridge. Cloris is survived by her children, Dixie Fee of Knoxville, Terry (Pam) Bonnett of rural Bussey, Lee (Debbie Farrow) Bonnett of rural Bussey, and Craig (Judy) Bonnett of Bussey; eight grandchildren, Shawn (Tina Hovell) Bonnett, Shane (Michelle) Bonnett, Nickolas (Sara) Bonnett, Jennifer Bonnett, Nathan (Erika) Bonnett, Cassie (Ben) Menz, Chelsey (Brian Ballard) Bonnett, and Wade Bonnett; and six great-grandchildren, Colton, Hannah, Lily, Carter, Izaak, and Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Armedia Trinkle; her husband Owen Cleo Bonnett, five brothers, Ralph, Floyd, Cecil, Jake, and her twin brother Bill Trinkle; and five sisters, Nellie Hugen, Clenna Schnack, Faye Robuck, Mabel Harris, and Betty Tonda.
