Winfield Funeral Home, (641)842-5126 DATELINE: Riverton, Wyoming and formerly of Knoxville, Iowa Raymond Dean Woodhouse Raymond Dean Woodhouse was born February 26, 1931 and passed away on January 6, 2012 in the Emergency Room at the Riverton Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years, ten months, and eleven days. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday January 14, 2012 at Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville. Military rites will be provided by the Knoxville American Legion and V.F.W. Honor Guard. Visitation will also be held at the Celebrate Community Church on Saturday, January 14th, from 9:00 A.M. until service time with Ray?s family present. Raymond grew up in Plymouth, Iowa and graduated from Plymouth High School. After graduation he attended the University of Iowa receiving his degree in Dentistry. Ray also served in the United States Army during peace time. Raymond married Carol Jean Koltz from DeKalb, Illinois. Carol and Ray shared many years together and were blessed with three children: Gary, Don, and Kathy. Ray was a dentist all his life. He was in private practice for ten years in Mankato, Minnesota. Then moved his family to Knoxville, Iowa in 1970 where he worked for the VA Medical Center for 20 years before retiring. After his retirement and his wife?s passing Ray moved to Riverton, Wyoming where he has lived since 1995. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, shopping, and traveling to Iowa to see his family. He spent time with the coffee club at McDonald?s in Riverton and enjoyed looking out of his picture window at the Wind River Mountains. Ray was active with the Lions Club, the Riverton Retired Dentist Association, also a former member of the Knoxville United Methodist Church and a current member of the Riverton United Methodist Church. Survivors include his children Gary Michael Woodhouse and wife Melissa of Knoxville, Don Woodhouse and wife MaryLou of Webster City; and Kathy Lenz and husband Brad of Ames; seven grandchildren Katie and Kevin Woodhouse, Cory, Trent, and Isabel Woodhouse, and Zoe and Zane Lenz; and one great grandson Marley Wilson. Ray is also survived by his sister Mary Woodhouse of Mason City. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings; and his wife Carol Jean Woodhouse.
