Mary Aileen Pabst, 97 of Albia, Iowa died at the Monroe County Hospital, early Tuesday morning, April 15, 2008. Aileen was born in Albia, Iowa June 7, 1910 to Dr. George Allen and Zora Belle Cramer Jenkins. She graduated from Albia High School, Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri, and Drake University where she received a bachelor degree in secondary education. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Visitation for Mrs. Pabst will be held Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Winfield Funeral Home from 4 to 8:00 P.M., with Aileen?s family present throughout the evening. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 19, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Albia. Burial will follow services at Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Aileen was united in marriage to Alfred Marcus Pabst June 28, 1932. They spent their entire married life in Albia where Mr. Pabst practiced law and Mrs. Pabst became a homemaker. To this union were born three children. Aileen was a member of the First Christian Church, and a 70 year member of Chapter H of the P.E.O. Sisterhood which she served as president numerous times. She was also a member of the Albia Woman?s Club and Kendall Club. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed world traveling, knitting, bridge, sports, including golf, cooking and was known for her entertaining. Mrs. Pabst is survived by two of her children, Janis A. Boenker (Donald) of Iowa City, IA., and John A. Pabst (Martha Viner) of Albia, IA. Seven grandchildren, Susan Boenker Maglich (Terry), Columbia, MO., M. Jane Boenker Mayhook, Bremerton, WA., Elizabeth Boenker Carlson (David), Westfield, IN., Ann Pabst Kinnamon (Jay), Lenexa, KS., Dr. Susan Pabst, Hickory, N.C., Dr. Mark D. Pabst (Mary Jon), Greenville, N.C., and Robert A. Pabst, Greenville, N.C. Mrs. Pabst is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and her sister Zoe Jenkins Heimann of Sioux City, IA. Aileen was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 1989, her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mark D. and Virginia Elting Pabst, her parents, her brother, Dr. G. DeWayne Jenkins, and her sister, Margaret Jenkins Bovenmyer. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or the Albia Public Library. Condolences may be made at www.winfieldfh.com
