Dolores Polson

Dolores Polson, age 89, of Albia, died Tuesday December 22, 2008, at the Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa. Dolores was born March 4, 1919 in Iconium in Appanoose County, Iowa to Jay Humes and Mary Alverda (Kelsey) Argo. She attended school in Iconium and Moravia and graduated from Fremont High School. Dolores married Don Polson on May 3, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. Dolores was a homemaker and helped operate the Polson Hatchery for many years with her husband. Dolores was a fifty year member of the First Christian Church in Albia, as well a fifty year member of White Shrine and The Order of The Eastern Star. Dolores is survived by her children, David and his wife Lisa Polson of Olathe, KS, Linda and her husband Ray Davis of Albia, IA; six grandchildren, Amy Polson of Des Moines, IA, Jay Polson of Chicago, IL, Jill Polson of Des Moines, IA, Kelly (Davis) Norton and her husband Mark of Lisbon, IA, Aaron Davis of Albia, IA and Cody Harris of Olathe, KS. Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Verda; her husband, Don; and one son, James Donald Polson. Dolores is also preceded in death by four brothers, Guy, Roy, Francis, Russell Argo; and two sisters, Mary Miller and Lois Burnett. A memorial has been established to the First Christian Church in Albia.
