Claude Ray “Junior” Heck, Jr. age 89, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on January 7, 2019 at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics. Junior was born at his family home on October 25, 1929, north of Knoxville, Iowa to Claude and Ruth (Simpson) Heck. He attended country school and later, Knoxville High School. After school, Junior started working. He drove a truck and delivered supplies and food to people living in rural areas. Junior married the love of his life, Geraldine Agan on November 18, 1950 at the Columbia Methodist Church. In 1951, Junior was drafted by the United States Army and served during the Korean War. In 1961, Junior and Geri moved north of Columbia to a 176 acre farm owned by Geri’s parents. They later purchased this farm. After several good years farming and raising cattle, Junior and Geri sold the farm and moved into Knoxville. During his semi-retirement, Junior worked for Agan Farms and later the Marion County Road Dept. Visitation for Junior will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville from 10:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M., with his family present to greet friends and relatives. Pastor Brent Hanna will offer words of comfort at 11:30. Following visitation, military honors will take place, followed by a luncheon at the funeral home. Burial services will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Memorials may be given in Junior’s memory to his family and will be distributed with love on a later date.
