Naomi "Van" Cameron

Naomi Ruth “Van” Cameron was born on January 26, 1928 on the family farm near Pleasantville, Iowa, the daughter of Abe and Johanna (Den Burger) Van Rheenen. Van’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday March 12th, 2018 at the Winfield Funeral Home, with Pastor Brent Hanna officiating. Van's family will be greeting friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will follow the luncheon at Oakwood Cemetery of Pella. Van attended Franklin Center School in southwest Marion County and graduated from Pleasantville High School. After graduation, she worked at Fort Des Moines, Veterans Administration Hospital at Knoxville and the Knoxville Raceway for 20 years. Van married Earl John “Joe” Cameron on June 1, 1948 in Pleasantville, Iowa. They lived their married lives in Marion County. Van was a loving and devoted housewife and mother of 5 children. Van died on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age of 90 years after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. In addition to her parents, Van was preceded in death by her husband Joe, daughter Kelly Falke, and two sisters Lenora Myers and Elizabeth Hughes. Van is survived by four sons, Doug (Anne), Greg (Barb), Ross (Cherie), and Clint, brother Doran (Cora) Van Rheenen, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grand-children.
