Audrey Colleen (Briggs) Agan
May 25, 1956 - February 5, 2018
Audrey Collen (Briggs) Agan was born May 25, 1956 to Carl and Lavon Briggs in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She grew up east of Bussey, Iowa and graduated from Twin Cedars High School “Class of 1974”, and was voted Saber Queen her senior year. In June of Audrey’s senior year she began to date Chris Lee Agan. The two were engaged by Christmas and were united in Marriage on June 29th , 1974. To this union three children were born: Bret, Bleu, and Ashley. After high school, Audrey attended the Iowa School of Men’s Hairstyling and for many years owned and operated “His and Hers Barber Shop.” Later she went to work as a secretary for the family business Agan Farms, Inc. In 2000, Audrey took a management position with Walmart Corporation. She worked at various area stores in Iowa, including: Pella, Indianola, Oskaloosa, and her last 5 years of her career were in Knoxville. No matter what time of day you would see Audrey at the store she always had a smile and would take time out of her day to check on the wellbeing of others. Her glowing smile, generous heart, and charismatic personality were only a few of her great qualities that made her presence noticeable to others. Audrey had many hobbies and interests but there were two things that she loved the most, her family and her Harley. Chris and Audrey loved the time spent together on their Harley’s. When Audrey got her bike, Chris took time to make her Harley custom to her. They would get a group together or just the two of them and make the best of a beautiful day. The time spent with her kids and her grandkids was her most precious time. No matter how short of an amount of time that went by since she had seen them prior it was a competition of whose eyes were going to light up faster, Grandma’s or Grandma’s babies? Audrey passed away at age 61 on Monday evening, February 5, 2018, at the Knoxville Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. Audrey is survived by her mother, Lavon Lanphier; her loving husband of over 43 years, Chris; three children, Bret (Abbie) Agan , Bleu Agan, and Ashley (Ryan) Bassett all of Knoxville; five grandchildren, Emma Jo Agan, Brayton Bassett, Bria Bassett, Taylor Jensen, and Kylie Jensen.
